Due to this home’s coastal location, high winds and more extreme coastal weather conditions had to be taken into account for all design and window interface details. In addition to the Glass Box kitchen and living spaces, we installed a unique “Crows Nest” glass feature that required a 3D design to ensure all interface details were fully coordinated prior to the commencement of work on the site.

There were many unique design considerations that required careful planning of many bespoke details, varying from toggle glass with integrated external glass balustrades, and from other toggle details to parapet cappings that can withstand any coastal gusts and all extreme weather conditions.

As this design required a full Curtain Walling System to all elevations of this modern coastal home, taking the building’s energy efficiency into consideration was key. Installing solar control glazing was critical in order to provide comfortable living spaces that are not prone to over or under heating. Our solar control glazing was specified to ensure optimum performance, and was installed with an average U Value for the system below Passive Levels with a Uw below 0.8 W/M2K.
