With large, glazed screens to the east & west elevations of this home, the energy efficiency, it was important for our window and door designs to prioritise a comfortable indoor climate year round. To prevent any overheating in the living areas, the NOVUS team included a dual layer of Low-emissivity (Low-E) glazing and coatings to the large feature windows to control solar UV permeation and keep the home cool during the warmer months. The average U Value for the window and door systems installed was below Passive Standards with an average Uw of 0.78 W/M2K.
