Main contractor: Walls Construction
After successfully delivering windows and doors for the Walled Gardens Dundrum and Grand Canal Harbour developments for the Marlet Property Group, we were engaged early in the design and tendering process for their Claremont development in Howth. NOVUS Windows was then novated to the project’s main contractor, Walls Construction, to ensure that the developer could control the quality of window and door products being installed in the project.
Design and Problem Solving
Due to this site’s proximity to the Irish Sea and its coastal weather conditions, durability and longevity of the window and door products was of the utmost importance during the initial planning phase. NOVUS selected our Frame IC Aluwood System for this development due to its inorganic material composite construction. Since the install site is in a wet zone, this guarantees there is no risk of frame decay or rot as is more common with traditional Aluclad Window Systems. All finishes had to be marine grade with aluminium support brackets and stainless steel fixings. The construction programme was very compact, so all windows and doors were installed over a 9-month period with more than 40 operatives on site at any one time.
